采用NCEP／NCAR逐日再分析資料,通過對北半球環(huán)狀模指數(shù)的分析,將平流層異常分為兩類:S型和D型,研究了兩類平流層異常過程的差異及其與對流層的關(guān)系。結(jié)果表明,兩種類型的異常特征在平流層類似,而主要的差別發(fā)生在對流層。在S型平流層異常期間,平流層緯向風(fēng)異常有隨時間向下傳播的趨勢,對流層表現(xiàn)為與平流層一致連續(xù)的緯向風(fēng)異常;位勢高度和溫度距平場的分布中,最顯著的特征是對流層與平流層呈相當正壓結(jié)構(gòu),極區(qū)和中緯度異常表現(xiàn)為反位相的振蕩,呈現(xiàn)典型的北極濤動特征。在D型平流層異常期間,平流層緯向風(fēng)異常隨時間向下傳播的趨勢不存在,另外平流層緯向風(fēng)異常僅局限在平流層范圍內(nèi),對流層表現(xiàn)為與平流層相反的緯向風(fēng)異常;位勢高度和溫度距平場的分布中,平流層中低層與高層呈現(xiàn)反位相的距平分布,在對流層中低層,溫度和位勢高度的距平場呈現(xiàn)無規(guī)則的分布。

Abstract:

Based on the daily NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data,the northern annular mode index is analyzed and the stratospheric northern annular mode anomalies are divided into two types, i.e. the type S and type D.The differences of two types and their relationships with troposphere are measured.Results show that the features of the two types are very similar in the stratosphere,while their differences are great in the troposphere.During the period of type S,the zonal wind anomalies show a downward propagation trend from the stratosphere to the troposphere and a consistent continuity in the two levels.In the geopotential height and temperature anomaly fields,the most remarkable characteristic is the equivalent barotropic structure from the stratosphere to the troposphere,and the inverse phase oscillation exists between the polar region and the middle latitude.Therefore,the type S demonstrates a typical feature of Arctic Oscillation.During the period of type D,the downward propagation trend of the zonal wind anomalies from the stratosphere to the troposphere disappears,and the stratospheric zonal wind anomalies are confined to the stratosphere,which display opposite changes in the troposphere.In the geopotential height and temperature anomaly fields,the anomalies at the middle and low levels of stratosphere show a reverse phase with those at the high level, and the anomalies in the middle and low troposphere show ruleless distributions.
